Northern Symphony Orchestra's Petting Zoo is a unique opportunity for children and adults of all ages to learn about the four families of instruments within the orchestra and how they make sounds. The musicians will also play a few pieces.

The public will expand their knowledge of, and appreciation for, orchestra music.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Families learned how instruments make their sounds, how a group plays without a conductor, and musical vocabulary. They also appreciated listening to several pieces the group played. Children were allowed to play some of the instruments after the short concert.
