Project Overview
May 5: Discuss the classic novel of the Minnesota frontier Giants in the Earth. May 12: Find out about Scandinavian immigrant humor and hear from their letters home. May 19: Explore Minnesota writers like Robert Bly, Bill Holm, Bart Sutter and hear music of the Scandinavian immigrants. This three-part series uses novels, poetry, music, letters and humor to trace the heritage of one of Minnesota’s largest ethnic groups. There will also be time for members of the audience to share reminiscences of their own immigrant forbears.
