First Thursdays in the Club
Participants will experience new music and dance traditions in a venue in format that builds community.
Attendees at these five musical events experienced live traditional music in a relaxed social setting. 125 evaluations were returned at the five events. When asked to rate the quality of the event, 124 out of 125 responding to that question rated it 4 or 5 out of 5 (with 1 being "Poor" and 5 being "Excellent"). When asked "How familiar are you with the style of music & dance at this program?," over one-third (44) rated their familiarity a 1, 2 or 3 (with 1 being "Not at all" and 5 being "Very familiar." Many of the evaluations had positive comments about the live music, socialization, and learning about the music and instruments being the favorite aspects of the events, including these comments: “loved learning about the instruments. Very accomplished musicians. Fun personalities; great program”. The City of Prior Lake was again an enthusiastic partner in the events, paying for two performances and soliciting funds from the Prior Lake Lions Club for the March performance, and contributing staff and space for the events.
NOTE: attendance reported below does not reflect an additional 62 people at the 11/5 event which was reported separately as a Live at the Library event. Total attendance was 364 for all five events.
