511 parents and children enjoyed the whole morning of early literacy related art activities throughout the library; 45 children and parents enjoyed a performance by Jared Sherlock. Children created paper cowboy and cowgirl dolls, wrote Haiku poems about summer reading, lassoed and panned for letters, enjoyed a storywalk, and listened to readings of cowboy related stories. They also created photos using letters to spell words related to the day's theme and shared their favorite books for summer reading.
