Project Overview
Take a trip to Spain through Lola’s Fandango by Anna Witte — the story of a young girl who discovers her own talent and spirit through Flamenco lessons taught by her father. Dancer Deborah Elias will lead you through rhythmic movements until you’re dancing the Flamenco, too. Ages: 0–10.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Preschoolers and school-aged kids will engage in and enjoy a cultural dance program with a storytelling element.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Clapping, foot-stomping, graceful arms, spins and more between the pages of "Lola's Fandango." Dancers from 3 to 65 had a wonderful time, especially a 9-10 year old boy who really "got" the dance. Tons of fun. Deborah read "Lola's Fandango" and stopped periodically to teach flamenco moves - culminating in a flamenco dance. Ages skewed very young which was too bad: older kids would have really enjoyed it. The young kids "did" enjoy it and the performer/program was excellent.
