Project Overview
Christmas Tree (12/29): We’ll draw and paint with bright colors to create a marvelous composition. If you pick the Christmas tree project we’ll also use glitter and rhinestones. Clay Spiders (10/9, 11/10): Come join us at the library and read a story by Eric Carle about a spider. We’ll sculpt a spider and even make a web for our spider. We’ll learn how to roll and shape our clay. We’ll use our imaginations to create cool spiders. Ages 3-12, max students 36. Clay Turkey Bowls (11/14, 11/18, 11/25): Join us at the library and learn all about sculpting. We’ll read a story about Turkeys, learn how to shape clay and mix colors. We’ll read a funny story. Ages 3-12. Moonlight Halloween Watercolor (10/22): Come to the library and we’ll read a Halloween story. You will learn watercolor techniques and use oil pastels and cutout shapes to create resistance and create your moonlight night. This lesson takes 60 minutes. Max students 32, ages 6-14.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Kids will gain hands-on art experience from a professional instructor.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Clay Spiders: Model Magic clay used to shape spiders -- pipe cleaners for legs. Kids like creating their own unique spiders for Halloween. Moonlight Halloween Watercolor: Painters created a large moon shape, resistance drawing and painting over created a spooky nighttime picture--all the pictures looked good. Clay turkey bowl: Kids made a clay turkey bowl. All of them turned out great! Lezlee is great at explaining step by step directions. Christmas Tree: The kids created fun sparkly paintings of Christmas Trees to take home and hang on the wall. They really enjoyed creating fun colors and ornaments and using sparkles.
