Project Overview
Educators from Silverwood Park will present:
Six sessions of Caves, Paper and Minecraft Unite! – Participants will learn about real Minnesota caves and then bring their love of Minecraft to the art table to create a glowing light-up block from paper and LED lights.
Six sessions of Snowflake Science and Lanterns – Participants will explore the science of snowflakes and make a snowflake-inspired lantern to shine a warm light during our chilly winter months.
One session of Stars, Yoda, and Spaceship Origami – Participants will learn about the night sky and make celestial and Star Wars themed objects out of colorful paper, folds, and no glue. The objects will range in complexity from easy to intermediate in difficulty.

Measurable Outcome(s)
Participants learned about the natural world and applied new learning of arts techniques to hands-on projects related to the topic. In a survey, 90% of participants were inspired and over 83% learned something new and had an idea for how to apply what they had learned at home.
