Project Overview
Humorist and Minnesota birder Al Batt spoke about his book "A Life Gone to the Birds." He read from his book, told jokes, shared his favorite birds, and answered questions from the audience. He ended the program by signing books and taking photos with attendees. Prior to the reading, the Farmers Friends 4-H club sold their handmade bird houses for $10 each.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Participants will become more familiar with Minnesota birding, enjoy an outstanding presentation and enjoy direct access to a talented and humorous birder.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The 4-H group sold out early and their leader thanked everyone for inviting them to take part in the event. Many attendees had not been inside the library before. It was a warm community event. Select comments were collected from post-program written surveys: "I did not know so many people were interested in birds." "[I appreciated] the manner in which Batt presented his stories, easily, drawing the audience into reminiscences with him."
