Project Overview

Kate Hopper spoke about her new book "Ready for Air: A Journey through Premature Motherhood." Half a million babies are born prematurely in the United States every year and Kate Hopper eloquently gives a voice to what their parents share, providing a testament to the strength of motherhood--and the sharing of stories--to transform lives. She ended the program by signing books. Kate Hopper teaches writing online and at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis, where she lives with her husband and two daughters. She holds an MFA from the University of Minnesota. She is the author of "Use Your Words: A Writing Guide for Mothers" and an editor at Literary Mama.

The copies of the book Ready for Air: A Journey through Premature Motherhood have been checked out three times. Library patrons are becoming more familiar with the struggles of parents of premature babies and are enjoying an outstanding literary reading. Unfortunately, no one attended the program so the last two proposed measurable outcomes were not met.
