Battle of the Books is part of a Region 9-wide effort to promote the library arts and self-confidence for young adults by allowing them to develop literacy, comprehension, and critical thinking skills while supporting many of the Search Institute's 40 developmental assets for adolescents, especially the constructive use of time, reading for pleasure, planning and decision making, cultural competence and personal power.

Measurable Outcome(s)

All outcomes were met. Students indicated they had a lot of fun, enjoy the program, want to continue doing it, and love that it is a way to be introduced to new books.
