Hasse Family Farm Petting Zoo
This popular and educational event is one of many activities that will serve as the finale to the Blue Earth County Library 2014 Summer Reading Program (SRP). The Petting Zoo will provide a comprehensive experience where children are able to touch, pet and be close to animals they read about in books or see on TV. This program will an opportunity for children and adults to learn more about animals and their role on the farm and in our culture and environment, especially those patrons who have not experienced rural life. Anecdotal responses will be collected at the conclusion of the program.
The children and families who attended the SRP Finale Carnival were thrilled with the opportunity to have an up-close experience with a variety of animals. Besides the Petting Zoo, there was face painting, balloon animals, shaved ice and cotton candy. The children were able to collect their SRP prizes and have a variety of activities to enjoy that evening.
