Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The presenters will provide a comprehensive and informative overview of creatures from around the world and will discuss how these creatures are part of and contribute to the ecology of various regions. The audience will learn and be encouraged to expand their knowledge of these species. The program emphasizes growth and understanding of creatures and ecologists that are familiar and different than our own. Program success will be based on anecdotal responses at the conclusion of the program.

Measurable Outcome(s)

If a child had a question, the presenter made sure she answered it and overall the program went well! The audience learned about each animal. The habitat it lived in, what country or state it lived in. The food it ate and what it drank. They learned that turtles in Minnesota hibernate in the winter under water and breathe through a spot on their rear end and the chinchillas do not take baths in water because of all their fur. The audience also learned that two of the species are endangered and what it means to be endangered. We had a wonderful outcome. The children and adults all came out of the program happy and talking about their favorite animal. They all had a chance to touch the snake and thought it was "awesome." They came into the library and checked out books about animals. The program was well-received from both the very young to the aged. Everyone learned something new, and how special the animals are to our earth.
