Project Overview
Minnesota has a long and rich history with beer, starting with the first brewery opened in Saint Paul in 1849. Today, Minnesota's beer scene, the innovators and home brewers that spurred a new generation of breweries and the basics of beer making. Portable sewing kits were an essential accessory for everyone from soldiers to housewives during the Civil War. “Housewives” would securely store thread, pins, needles and notions. During this workshop, participants will create modern versions of these popular Civil War era sewing kits
