Project Overview
In honor of Decoration Day, living history actors will portray Blue Earth County Civil War veterans and civilians, telling the story of their Civil War experiences. As our nation commemorates the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War, this program is intended to inform and educate the audience on the role the Blue Earth County residents played during the Civil War.

The audience will enjoy this unique presentation about the Civil War from historical actors portraying actual Blue Earth County residents of that period. The audience will learn how these people lived, what thoughts and emotions they felt and how the war impacted their lives as well as their families and loved ones.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The presentation was interesting while bringing local Civil War history close to home. The audiences were impressed with a new and different way to present a historical perspective on a defining moment in U.S. history. Those who attended all gave favorable comments about the program and the professional and well-informed reenactments of each character.
