Project Overview

Make the stars your old friends as we watch the great celestial show in the skies over your town. Get to know the constellations like The Big Bear, Cygnus the Swan, Pegasus the Winged Horse, and some of their great stories behind them. We’ll also use large reflecting telescopes, including two giant 20 inch reflectors that are among the biggest mobile telescopes in Minnesota. For some telescope targets it’s even possible to take photos with cell phone cameras. You’ll get a great handout package with user-friendly star maps and constellation charts, websites, a telescope-buying guide, and more!

All outcomes were met. This was THE BEST program! Everyone loved it, Mike was a joy to listen to, he was funny, kind, fun, enthusiastic. He stayed as late as participants wanted and library staff would allow. What a terrific program that taught everyone so much!
