Project Overview
During Teen Tech Week, teens learned how to assemble and use the OWI Robotic Arm Edge. This basic robotic kit gave teens the opportunity to learn how to create a type of robot that is used in many factories and has a lot of practical applications. Through this program, staff member Matthew White encouraged the teens to use their talents to come up with creative solutions to tricky problems and to figure out how robots work. White taught them basic skills to build robots on their own. A local science teacher recommended the program to his students and we had one of our largest programs for teens to date. We actually ran out of kits as we only prepared for 25 participants, but teens doubled up to create their robots.
