Project Overview
This community-based interactive learning festival offered approximately 30 free classes/ demonstrations that were held in various areas in the Library or in Trowbridge Park just behind the library. This all-ages festival allowed people to quickly develop skills they would normally not seek out, sample new ideas, and enhance community spirit. It was such a positive event! Classes included: How to make a perfect cup of coffee, fold a paper crane, use a cricut for scrapbooking, make a healthy snack, design a Lego maze, make the most of your money, do basic bike maintenance, create simple flower arrangements, give basic first aid, creatively wrap gifts, make silly putty and slime, do fun exercises for everyone, draw faces, play Settlers of Catan, twirl a color guard flag, make great guacamole, make an indoor herb garden, make your own pom-poms, pick perfect produce, create a game travel box, relax, jumpstart a car, paint with acrylics, give a basic hand massage, make a handmade birthday card, make a giant bubble wand, plant a window box, study smart, make cave art, and perform three basic karate moves. We set aside a great deal of our budget for paying speakers, but most speakers refused payment because it was a great promotional opportunity for their business. Thus, our cost was surprisingly low.
