Project Overview
For the past several years the Gaylord Library has worked with the local Chamber to put on Santa Day at the Library. Our theme centers around a holiday book with different stations that have activities for the kids to do. This year we are using the book “Kangaroo for Christmas.” To celebrate the book, our program features a live kangaroo and a holiday art station.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Children will learn more about kangaroos, enjoy doing activities with parents or other adults, learn that the library is a fun place to be, and create an art project.

Measurable Outcome(s)

67 participants turned in surveys when exiting Santa Day. Of those, 57 reported learning something new about kangaroos. When asked about their favorite part of the event, 28 respondents chose Santa and 19 chose the kangaroo. The face painting and cookie stations tied for next place with 8 votes each. Other responses about favorites included: everything, hot cocoa, music/carolers, and the variety of activities offered.
