Project Overview
Kaitlyn Kirchner spoke about her trip to the White House to be honored by First Lady Michelle Obama for her prize-winning garden stir-fry recipe. Kirchner submitted her recipe as part of FLOTUS’s Junior Chef competition, which links in with the Let’s Move campaign. Kirchner talked about how she came up with the recipe and showed her slide presentation about her trip. Kirchner’s program was held as part of Waseca Public Library’s Gardening Week.

Selected comment, collected from post-program written surveys: "[I most enjoyed] just listening to her tell her story nice for the kids that she’s kid. It lets kids can make things happen." 100% of respondents learned something new about the Junior Chef program. Most learned something new about cooking with garden ingredients.
