A Day at the Theater
An anticipated outcome for this event is that library usage will increase and attendance at future library events will also increase. Another goal is to encourage the performance arts at a young age and to foster a greater appreciation of arts in their future. Participants will use the library more often and be more aware of library events and folktale stories after this event. Pleasure, amusement, education and entertainment from attendees are also expected outcomes and will be recorded on surveys on the bus ride home.
Gibbon Public Library hosted a bus trip for Summer Reading Program participants and chaperone to the Old Log Theater to see a performance of Freckleface Strawberry. Measured outcomes from verbal survey of participants: 100% enjoyed the program, 75% had never attended a performance at the theater before, 90% said they would attend more library programs, 70% said the experience increased their knowledge of performing arts.
